What’s your name, age and placement site?
My name is Jeffrey Payne. I’m 18 and placed at Your Move MKE.
Could you briefly describe what project(s) you have been working on at your placement?
I’ve been giving my input on some events they host and advising them on how to better engage with youth. I’m also helping to plan an art gallery event.
What decisions have you made so far at your placement org? What ideas or suggestions have you contributed to that influenced how something was done?
I’ve contributed ideas on helping people get involved and on how things should look - like the final product. Your Move MKE has many good people who have always listened to my ideas and given me feedback.
In what ways has your placement changed how you see yourself as a leader?
I’ve learned that leadership isn’t just about talking big at meetings or in the group chat. You have to actually put in the work outside of them.
How would you describe your overall AYC and placement experience?
My overall experience with the Autonomous Youth Council has been pretty good. I feel happy with my placement and the treatment the AYC has shown me!
